The Ranch is quite a way west on 6th Street which is great for anyone who wants to avoid the drama of Dirty 6th. It is s a great spot to start the night with their happy hour or hang out all night listening to tunes on one of two rooftop decks.
The Belmont has seen a lot of other venues and restaurants come and go from their spot on West 6th Street. This bar and restaurant offers three options for your seating and entertainment preference. The patio is fun and intimate with umbrella equipped tables and a stage for live music. Inside, the restaurant and bar get more crowded and bustling as the night goes on. Generous booths offer enough space for groups to hang out and eat. The rooftop deck is your third option. The deck is equipped with its own dedicated bar and staff. It quickly becomes standing room only.
If you decide to brave 6th Street a little closer to I-35 you should definitely head to Maggie Mae’s. This blues mainstay will serve up some excellent music and raucous good time with many sectioned out areas of the bar, you can explore from room to room as you please. The best feature may be the rooftop deck which gives a bird’s eye view of all of the craziness down on 6th street. As with most venues that offer a rooftop experience, this one gets crowded pretty quickly.
